This is something you cannot eat, but it's still delightfully yummy and tickles the senses. Love Lush at the moment and all it's products; love looking at the website and pondering over what to try next, it's a shame that it's a bit expensive though. Means i can only buy little things, but it's worth it!

Recently bought the raspbery milkshake body cream from the n-spa range in Asda. It smells scrumptious, even though it's more strawberry than raspberry, but no matter, it does the job of making me smell lovely. Would like to try a body scrub at some point, so might make that my next purchase. Could do with a good exfoliator. I use exfoliating gloves at home, but having them back at my student house is a bit risky, as there's nowhere to put it, plus the bathroom isn't great. Need silky smooth skin!Been using Original Source products too, which smell so so good! Really loving being self indulgent with lovely smelling things. I usually just go for stuff that smells very subtle, but i want to smell tropical and delicious, and i hope that i do through using all these!

I'm not doing much art at the moment, but i have done a little drawing tonight. When i retrieve my camera tomorrow i may upload it :) but just to keep this productive, here's some stills from a really short and psychelic film i made just before easter! Pretty stills :) Film is called 'Kaleidolls'.

Tea Parties

Been looking for images of tea parties on weheartit.com
Really want to recreate something like this for fine art, perhaps not this year, but definitely next year, seeing as when i return to uni after easter i'll only have 2 months left, and about 1 month left in the studio!

Today i'm not sure what to do with myself. Just going to have a lazy afternoon of nothingness i think, until i can hop into the bath and just lie there for a while.

A little video inspiration for you now. If you've never heard of Jan Svankmajer he's a stop animator who indulges the viewer in surrealist moving visuals which confuse your mind as well as intrigue you with their mystifying storyline and beauty. I have a dvd of his short films at home at the moment, which i took out of the library to help me think up gorgeous, surreal ideas for future films. Below is one of his short films called 'Meat Love'. It makes me feel all warm with romantic ideas and then sad about the ending! I guess all good things must come to an end.

Another inspirational piece is the Smirnoff Vodka 'Be There' advert. It relates to my work so much in terms of dressing up as characters and using outdoor environments and transforming them with my protagonists as places of escapism.

I have a youtube channel! Visit it here: http://www.youtube.com/user/littlejoliepie
to tantalize you, here is a my first video that i produced with the help of my friend Rachel.

Also, i'm back home! I've really missed this place, bar the slow internet which means i cannot upload more videos to youtube due to the upload speed being 0.10mb! Deary me.
Here's so beautiful flowers that are in my parents' house. I love how mum has different flowers every week. It's something i want to do when i get my own place.

Aren't they lovely? :)

At the moment i'm being really inspired by the videos of Lady GaGa. Filled with nonsensical, uncomprehensible themes, amazing dances, stark and beautiful costumes, and Gaga's ability of reinvention and assuming many different characters is astounding as a viewer, and inspirational as an artist. Here's some of my favourite videos of hers. I'd say Bad Romance is my all time favourite, but all of them are amazing.

Well, i'm going to start giving something to this blog instead of constantly promising then forgetting! My laziness is unbearable at the moment, i really should learn to rein it in, although i think a lovely easter holiday will do the trick. Plenty of relaxation, reading, and a little creating.
I have film still from the first film i made, called 'Dogging in the Arboretum'. To describe it briefly, i'm wearing a white dog mask and dancing, skipping, hiding and playing with 2 dog fluffy dog toys in a park in Nottingham. If you haven't already seen it on my facebook, here's snippets to tantalize you. At a later date, probably during easter, i'll set up a youtube account and put my little beauties on there to be viewed freely by everyone!

Below are my scruffy little notes on what i want to do within the film. It was really rough, and i relied more upon spontaneity and my imagination rather than planning. I tend not to have a proper sketchbook anymore. It distracts from fabricating actual work, plus the tutors don't look at it! So it's a waste of time really!

More snippets will be on their way! As well as little meanders into current inspirations.

Oopsie

I keep neglecting this space and forgetting it's here.
With the masses of university work i've had to wade my way through it's easy to even forget about the world, or life outside my 'research portfolio' bubble.
I have plenty of things to upload on to here; photographs, little doodles, and films and film stills.
I'll get round to it over easter.
but for now, here's some Fischli and Weiss, dressed up as their alter egos 'Rat and Bear' - adorable if watched without sound, the german accents make it slightly creepy for me, mainly because they're so low pitched.
