Me and Sally went vintage shopping around nottingham, looking for pretty little beauties, artistic inspiration and old, personality-filled objects to make us coo.
I squealed quite alot, and spent £20 on things, whereas Sally spent nothing! Sensible lady! Sally took me to an AMAZING shop called Bambi Vintage in sherwood. Seriously, it was the most beautiful shop i've ever been in. Can't wait to go back; next time i'm going to buy a china teacup and saucer :) so excited.
On the way back from our vintage adventures we stopped off at Dotty's Café on Mansfield road for a spot of tea and some banana cake. Wonderful.
Here's my bedroom, the rainbow crochet blanket on my bed was from a vintage shop on Mansfield Road called 'Daphne's Handbags'
Found this book in Treasure Chest, which is in Sherwood near Bambi Vintage. Was amongst a hell of alot of junk and furniture and it cost me £5, but it's a beautiful vintage children's book. Would've liked to have got it for less, but it's still really lovely.
Bambi vintage! An truly wonderful shop! i kept the brown paper bag that a scarf came in that i bought from there. It had a lovely birdie stamped on to it, so i will stick it in my purple notebook, which is nearly full!

Doodles from this morning's lecture. It disinterested me, so i did something useful with my time.
Today is such a pretty day; i love it.

Last night i watched the first televised election debate between the three main party leaders. Whilst watching it i was wondering why they didn't do it sooner. A debate such as this can show the vulnerability and incapacity of each leader when it comes to thinking on their toes, and each one of them did stumble. However, and before i say this i was intending to vote for them anyway, Nick Clegg came off best. As the most outspoken, inquisitive and interesting of the three, he raised points, made decent argumentsand held my attention the most. Cameron came out of it the weakest in my opinion, looking like abit of a foolish school boy between Clegg and Brown, whereas Brown seemed outdates, monotonous and disinteresting, in whatever topic he was talking about. Clearly thr country needs something different after so long under Labour.
But before people get excited about Nick Clegg, bear this is in mind : he 'plans to join the euro, scrap the Trident nuclear deterrent and offer an amnesty to illegal immigrants.' So a country as patriotic as ours is really willing to give up the pound? Being honest i don't care, we'll still have the queen's head on our overpriced stamps. Plus, what are we going to deter Iran with if they start getting frisky with us? Harsh words and finger pointing? I like Nick Clegg, better than the other two, but is he really any better? He doesn't appear ruthless enough to become prime minister. He needs to come out fighting now, and be as argumentative and as harsh as the conservatives and labour are being to one another. If he lies in the background too much, we'll never get 'real change'.

This is something you cannot eat, but it's still delightfully yummy and tickles the senses. Love Lush at the moment and all it's products; love looking at the website and pondering over what to try next, it's a shame that it's a bit expensive though. Means i can only buy little things, but it's worth it!

Recently bought the raspbery milkshake body cream from the n-spa range in Asda. It smells scrumptious, even though it's more strawberry than raspberry, but no matter, it does the job of making me smell lovely. Would like to try a body scrub at some point, so might make that my next purchase. Could do with a good exfoliator. I use exfoliating gloves at home, but having them back at my student house is a bit risky, as there's nowhere to put it, plus the bathroom isn't great. Need silky smooth skin!Been using Original Source products too, which smell so so good! Really loving being self indulgent with lovely smelling things. I usually just go for stuff that smells very subtle, but i want to smell tropical and delicious, and i hope that i do through using all these!
I'm not doing much art at the moment, but i have done a little drawing tonight. When i retrieve my camera tomorrow i may upload it :) but just to keep this productive, here's some stills from a really short and psychelic film i made just before easter! Pretty stills :) Film is called 'Kaleidolls'.

Really want to recreate something like this for fine art, perhaps not this year, but definitely next year, seeing as when i return to uni after easter i'll only have 2 months left, and about 1 month left in the studio!

Today i'm not sure what to do with myself. Just going to have a lazy afternoon of nothingness i think, until i can hop into the bath and just lie there for a while.

A little video inspiration for you now. If you've never heard of Jan Svankmajer he's a stop animator who indulges the viewer in surrealist moving visuals which confuse your mind as well as intrigue you with their mystifying storyline and beauty. I have a dvd of his short films at home at the moment, which i took out of the library to help me think up gorgeous, surreal ideas for future films. Below is one of his short films called 'Meat Love'. It makes me feel all warm with romantic ideas and then sad about the ending! I guess all good things must come to an end.
Another inspirational piece is the Smirnoff Vodka 'Be There' advert. It relates to my work so much in terms of dressing up as characters and using outdoor environments and transforming them with my protagonists as places of escapism.

Here's so beautiful flowers that are in my parents' house. I love how mum has different flowers every week. It's something i want to do when i get my own place.

Aren't they lovely? :)

At the moment i'm being really inspired by the videos of Lady GaGa. Filled with nonsensical, uncomprehensible themes, amazing dances, stark and beautiful costumes, and Gaga's ability of reinvention and assuming many different characters is astounding as a viewer, and inspirational as an artist. Here's some of my favourite videos of hers. I'd say Bad Romance is my all time favourite, but all of them are amazing.
